US CMA Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The US CMA exam is available for testing during three different testing windows throughout the year: Jan-Feb, May-June, and Sept-Oct. It offers two options for taking the exam: visiting a Prometric Center or taking it online from the comfort of your home using Remote Proctoring. The US CMA exam consists of two parts, Part 1 and Part 2, each worth a total of 500 marks. Candidates can choose the order they want to take the exams, either Part 1 followed by Part 2 or vice versa. A candidate must obtain a minimum score of 360 marks in each region to pass the exam.
Candidates are allotted three hours to solve the MCQs and one hour to solve the essay questions. To proceed to the essay section, candidates must score at least 50% on the MCQs. Once candidates move on to the essay section, they cannot return to the MCQ section.
The marks allotted to each MCQ and essay question are kept secret when the exam results are announced. The results are generally declared within 40 days or six weeks from the exam date. 400 hours of study (200 hours per part) should be sufficient to pass both exam details. With consistent preparation, candidates can clear the US CMA exam within six to nine months.
