The maximum marks for the exam are 100, with a negative marking of 1/4th of the marks assigned for each incorrect response.
(ii) Test of Local Language Proficiency
After qualifying for the online written test, candidates must appear for a local language test to show their proficiency in the state’s official language they are applying for. This test is essential to ensure candidates can communicate effectively in the local language. Those who fail to qualify for the local language test will not be considered for selection, regardless of their performance in the online written test.
Exam Pattern for SBI Apprentice 2023
The SBI Apprentice Online test lasts 1 hour (60 minutes) and is worth 100 marks. The Computer Based Examination (CBE) will consist of 100 questions. To better understand the exam pattern, please refer to the section-wise details below. The SBI Apprentice Exam Pattern for 2023 has been updated and is described here.
Test A: Objective Test (Online)
Name of Test | Number of Questions | Maximum Marks | Duration |
Quantitative Aptitude | 25 | 25 | 15 mins |
Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude | 25 | 25 | 15 mins |
General English | 25 | 25 | 15 mins |
General/Financial Awareness | 25 | 25 | 15 mins |
Total | 100 | 100 | 1 hour |

The total exam duration will be 1 hour, and the maximum marks are 100. Each section will have a time limit of 15 minutes.
In the Objective Tests, there will be a penalty for wrong answers marked by the candidates. For each incorrect answer, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty. However, if a question is left unanswered or blank, no liability will be imposed for that question. This penalty system is in place to encourage candidates to answer only those questions they are confident about and to discourage them from making random guesses. It is essential to carefully read and understand the questions before responding to avoid unnecessary deductions.
