Senior Manager – HR & Placements

Job Description:

The Senior Manager - HR and Placement is responsible for overseeing and managing the full spectrum of human resource functions, with a particular focus on recruitment, employee engagement, student placement activities and developing our job portal Spot Giraffe. This role involves leading HR initiatives, collaborating with academic institutions for placement drives, managing employee performance, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and establishing industry connections for placements.

Major Responsibilities:

Lead the HR team

• Ensure smooth functioning of the HR department functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management and appraisal systems.

• Encourage a proactive approach to addressing employee concerns, conflict resolution, and maintaining a positive workplace culture.

• Set clear performance metrics and KPIs for all employees to ensure accountability, productivity, and alignment with organizational goals

• Encourage continuous learning and development by providing training opportunities to enhance the team’s skills and performance.

• Ensure an open and inclusive work culture where employees feel valued, heard, and motivated to contribute.

Manage Student Placements

1. Ensure placement of all eligible students within the specified timelines 

2. Organize career fairs, placement drives, and industry interaction sessions to enhance student employability.

3. Develop and implement strategies to improve student placement rates and ensure alignment with industry demands.

4. Collaborate with internal teams to provide career guidance, soft skills training, and interview preparation for students.

5. Conduct post-placement follow-ups with students to track their career progress and satisfaction.

Establishing Strong Industry Connects

1. Connect with top-tier companies, recruiters, and HR professionals through meetings, networking events, and professional platforms to establish long-term partnerships.

2. Understand employer hiring needs and skill expectations and support in offering targeted placement solutions.

3. Maintain regular interaction with employers through follow-up calls, feedback sessions, and industry insights sharing to strengthen collaboration and improve placement outcomes.

Lead growth of Spot giraffe platform

1. Oversee the continuous enhancement of Spot Giraffe by implementing new features, improving user experience, and optimizing platform performance.

2. Collaborate with employers, job seekers, and stakeholders to expand the platform’s reach, ensuring a seamless recruitment process.

3. Develop and execute marketing and branding strategies to position Spot Giraffe as a leading job portal, attracting both job seekers and employers.

Qualification:

1. Bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration or a  related field
2. A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in HR with at least 7+ years in a leadership role.
3. Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, HR strategy and placement coordination
4. Experience in handling placements in the ed-tech field will be given preference.
